Choose This Day

I hit the snooze button at least 3 … Yes three, times prior to actually getting out of the bed. Somedays I feel heavier, emotionally and spiritually, than others.

Then I realize that I was choosing wrong before I could even get out of bed. Before my feet touched the ground, I allowed myself to become defeated by my negative thinking. Thoughts like, “I don’t want to do this” or “This is not what God has called me to do, so why do I have to go in today?”

That way of thinking would put me in a funk from the beginning of the day all the way to the very end. It’s human and normal to have those thoughts but it is not okay to remain there. I chose to remain in that mindset and by the time I decided to come out of it… the day is about over with.

God has given us a beautiful gift called “free will”. We even have free will to choose how we feel. We have free will to receive or to not receive God’s grace. We have free will to choose LIFE or death. I encourage all of us to daily choose LIFE and LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY. Begin and end everyday with choosing LIFE.

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord , you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

Father,

Daily we arise from being asleep, in the natural and sometimes spiritually. As we arise from our places of rest I decree and declare that we shall choose LIFE. We shall no longer hit the snooze button to avoid having to address our calling or assignments. We choose to blossom where you have planted us with your joy being our strength. We pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
